A letter from me to YOU:
I am sorry if I ever posted something that was triggering for you.
I am sorry if watching my weight loss journey brought you feelings of hurt, pain, comparison, or any other feeling other than JOY.
Going forward I promise for this page to be a place of joy, acceptance, and just overall life wellness.
I have fought very hard to find my health (and am so grateful for it!!) but in the process I fear I may have hurt others with a diet culture mentality.
Recently I’ve been exploring the idea of diet culture and beginning to live a life free from diet culture. What that means? I’m not totally sure yet. I know that I’m learning a lot about the rules and limitations I’ve put on myself and am realizing I have thoughts regarding food that go back 20+ years!
And yes, (because I know your wondering) I’m still a Beachbody Coach! I think I’ll always be! I believe I can do the above and still support women in their health journeys! I believe in their fast and effective workouts from home especially for busy moms and women who want to spend more time LIVING. Plus quick workouts have allowed me to be home every morning with my kids while getting healthy! So YES I will always support that!
I am starting to lead my groups with more conversations regarding this diet culture mentality and shifting the focus not only on our workouts but our minds too.
I am a work in progress! I have some days that I feel like I just ROCK at being a mom, wife, coworker and child of God. While other days I fall flat on my face! But I know for certain that I’m just out here DOING MY BEST
So it just felt it was time to say bye to the name Mommy Jess Fitness as I’ve become so much more than fitness and @mommyjess_doingmybest just felt RIGHT!

Today is a day to celebrate! June 15th! Two Years since I started my health journey!
June 15th 2016, I was 10 weeks postpartum with baby number 2 (my sweet Riley Paige) and was topping the scales at 210 pounds.
I remember the night before telling my husband I was going to order 21 Day Fix and Shakeology, and oh by the way, I was also going to sign up to be a coach too. My palms were sweaty and I was nervous to tell him. He was definitely supportive (although I'm sure skeptical) but HELLO! Coaches get discounts! And since we were spending on average $500 a month on special hypoallergenic formula for Riley, I knew the discount would speak to him.
I woke up the next morning excited and ready to place my order. I also made an instagram account (@mommyjess_fitness) to document my journey. Which is where I probably met most of you reading this! So many of you have been with me on this journey from the beginning and I am SO SO THANKFUL for you!!
So while I was waiting for my 21 Day Fix package to ship (because this was ancient times before Beachbody on Demand streaming the workouts lololol), I dusted off my old T25 DVDs and pushed play on my first workout of being a mom of 2.
I was struggling with postpartum anxiety and depression and was on anxiety meds. Within days of drinking Shakeology and cleaning up my diet with the 21 Day Fix container system, I felt my anxiety lessening, my depression lifting and I started to feel like ME again.
8 months into my journey and I went completely off my anxiety pills!
Two years later and I am 70 pounds lighter and in so many ways a new person!
There have been ups and downs in this journey, of course! But overall, in the most simple terms...I am just happier. I am a more confident mom, wife, friend and coworker.
It is easier for me to play with my kids, to want to go to work, to be present in my marriage, to go shopping for clothes! I mean I have always dreamed of being able to go into any store and just easily fit into anything I want. My husband and I just got back from Vegas and I wore the kind of outfit I always dreamed of being able to wear on that kind of trip!
Besides the physical aspects of this journey, I now have a relationship with God. Something 2 years ago, I would have never been open to. I absolutely believe He brought this into my life when I needed it the most. The members of the coaching team I joined have a very faith based approach to their business and their lives. And to be honest with you, for months I didn't understand it. I would read their posts on social media and feel honestly confused.
How can they have so much faith?
What do they do to become closer to Him?
We are just so different.
Good for them but it's just not for me.
Until one day I listened to Oprah's Super Soul Sunday podcast and it was with Joel Osteen. This podcast introduced me to his book The Power of I Am. I read this book page by page and with every page my eyes and heart were open. I became excited about exploring my faith instead of afraid or embarrassed! My amazing mentor Jackie then sent me a devotional book and a bible and I have read my devotionals every single day since then. Thank you so much Jackie!

These chocolate peanut butter cups are delicious and the perfect alternative to all the Halloween candy full of extra unhealthy ingredients!
These cups have THREE ingredients!
1. Coconut Oil
2. Smooth Peanut Butter (or any kind of nut butter of your choice)
3. Chocolate protein powder (I used Vegan Chocolate Shakeology)
Place 2 Tablespoons of coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds until the coconut oil is liquified (my coconut oil was already liquid..AZ heat! lol So I needed more than 2 Tablespoons...I'm an eyeball it kind of girl anyways). Stir in 4 Tablespoons of chocolate protein powder.
In a muffin tin or mini muffin tin, divide the chocolate sauce evenly between 6-8 spots in the tin. Place in the freezer for 5 minutes.
Pull the muffin tray out of the freezer. Place a dollop of peanut butter of top of each frozen chocolate disk.
Repeat Step 1 and use this to pour on top of the peanut butter layer
Place the muffin tin back in the freezer and leave in there for at least 30 minutes. I found 45 minutes was perfect.
I used a pointy knife on the edges and they slipped right out of the tin easily!
Store in the freezer and try to eat only one :)
The Ultimate Reset was such a life changing experience for me. 21 Days of eating the cleanest I have ever eaten in my life and meal prepping every single meal for both me and my husband.
Was it hard work?
Did I want to give up at times?
Was it worth it?

So what is the Ultimate Reset?
It is a disciplined program of clean eating and daily supplements for 21 days.
It is not easy, but the results are worth it.
If you have been struggling with eating poorly, too much fast food, processed food, too much caffeine and alcohol...this is a great way to break those habits.
What do I have to do?
Included in your kit you will get a complete day by day guide. The guide will tell you what to eat every single day for 21 days. You have to prep and make all the food. You take the supplements when they tell you and drink a ton of water. As well as power greens and a detox drink.
You will not be working out. Maybe a walk or light yoga if you want, but that is it.

How much weight will I lose?

If you've been following me for a while then you know I have done this cleanse before (click here for my previous reviews).
This time I had committed to doing it after a month or so of just not watching what I was eating as well and letting those carbs and sweets sneak back in more than I'd like them to. Plus, we had a weekend of fun with family in from out of town and lots of treats, drinks, fried foods, and ice cream cake! So needless to say when Monday came I was so ready for the refresh!
This is what a day on the refresh looks like:
*Chug 10 oz of water when wake up
*Shakeology mixed with water, ice and a fruit
*Fiber Sweep drink
*A lunch of vanilla refresh shake with fruit, a veggie and a healthy fat
*Veggie snack with a healthy fat
*Dinner of vanilla refresh shake and a veggie based "dinner." I use that word dinner loosely as it's not a huge meal or anything. There is a recipe book that you get and I've tried several of them and they are all yummy!
Super excited to get started on the refresh! Had way too many adult bevs over the weekend and am feeling it today!
Woke up and chugged my 8 oz of water. I am in the middle of doing Focus T25 with Shaun T (25 minute workouts) and today was scheduled to be Upper Focus. Yesss!!! I love arm day and using weights!
Got in a great workout, had my morning shake (vegan chocolate with 1/2 banana) and headed into work!
Around 11am is when I take the fiber sweep. You mix the fiber sweep in 8oz of cold water and CHUG IT. And I MEAN FAST. If you wait, the mixture turns into a weird jelly like texture. BLAH. If I drink it fast, I actually like the taste. It is kind of a lemon, orange, sand flavor (lolol)
Lunch was delicious!! Baby tomatoes with avacado!! YUM! Already excited to eat it again tomorrow!
And dinner was my favorite recipe from the 3 Day Refresh recipe book!
Woke up super sore from my workout. Like "is this normal?!!? sore. Weighed myself and am down 3.4 lbs!
Today was a scheduled T25 Speed 2.0 day. Cardio sounded good, I just knew I needed to modify. I still worked up a great sweat and was able to start my day!
Stayed on plan and on track during work. I highly recommend working while on the refresh! It makes the days go by so much faster!
Around 4pm I got very HUNGRY. I tried to just finish my green tea and see if that would tide me over but I just couldn't. I knew I was going to be stuck at work til 6/6:30, so I decided to "cheat" and have some more tomatoes and avocado. I was immediately happy with that decision.
I had my dinner around 6:30/7 but kept the vanilla refresh shake for my "desert" again for later after the kids were in bed.
Before I knew it this day was over and I hadn't logged at all how it was going! I do know I woke up feeling amazing, worked out and went to work! The work day went so fast and I was never hungry! It truly is amazing how little food we need to feel happy and satisfied.
Tried a new dinner recipe, the kale salad and it was delicious!! I never thought of cooking kale and putting lemon on it...think that will be added to my list of regular dinners too!
I ended up losing 5.6 lbs of fluff and feeling amazing! My head is SO CLEAR!! I am always amazed how little food we need to feel satisfied!! This time I was also reminded that if I am hungry, it isn't the end of the world! I will be ok. Hunger doesn't equal the end of the world.
The most exciting part of doing the 3 Day Refresh is that I have decided to work towards going all Vegan! To accomplish this I will be starting Beachbody's Ultimate Reset! It is a 21 Day "cleanse" that resets your body, eliminates toxins and gets you to a vegan diet!
